That upcoming Cell processor is supposed to have virtualization capabilities
as well. Because there's nothing I'd like more than about 1,000 virtual
machines. From what I understand, it's just a 64bit ppc core, and the
programming for spe's would be the tricky part.
Has any development outside of the x86 architecture been done? I realize the
case may be easier when much of the virtualization is moved into hardware. (by
looks of some of the Venderpool discussion.) The documentation hints towards a
PPC port sometime in the future.
