[Xen-devel] MYSQL bechmark results on XEN and LVM2 and GNBD
Hi,
I'm using Xen 2.0.3 with LVM2 as root for domain-0 and dom-U, and also
another dom-U on gnbd.
Kernel 2.6.10, custom config (kernel debug disabled), processor specific
(Athlon).
Benchmark use official Mysql binary (static .tar.gz from mysql.com) and
sysbench (http://sysbench.sourceforge.net/) OLTP test.
On the same physical server :
Domain-0, LVM2, 128MB memory
OLTP test statistics:
queries performed:
read: 140070
write: 40012
other: 20005
total: 200087
transactions: 10000 (111.09 per sec.)
deadlocks: 5 (0.06 per sec.)
read/write requests: 180082 (2000.53 per sec.)
other operations: 20005 (222.24 per sec.)
Domain-1, LVM2, 128MB memory
OLTP test statistics:
queries performed:
read: 140070
write: 40012
other: 20005
total: 200087
transactions: 10000 (78.98 per sec.)
deadlocks: 5 (0.04 per sec.)
read/write requests: 180082 (1422.30 per sec.)
other operations: 20005 (158.00 per sec.)
Domain-1, GNBD, 128MB memory
OLTP test statistics:
queries performed:
read: 140000
write: 40000
other: 20000
total: 200000
transactions: 10000 (41.98 per sec.)
deadlocks: 0 (0.00 per sec.)
read/write requests: 180000 (755.68 per sec.)
other operations: 20000 (83.96 per sec.)
I understand the fact that GNBD is slower than LVM2, but is Dom-U supposed
to be that much slower compared to Dom-0?
Regards,
Fajar
