I attatched a serial console to the thing and realised that I actually
wasn't running the version of Xen I thought I was. I have been upgrading
my machines from 2.4.27 on 2.0-beta 1430 to 2.6.9 on 2.0.1 and it was
only when I got the serial line attatched that I was actually running
the 1430 patch instead of the later 2.0.1 patch. I must have installed
an earlier version of kernel-patch-xen by mistake. Talk about a paper
bag event!

Everything's working great and I am still making modifications to the
2.0.1 packages for debian testing. When they work to my satisfaction I
will publish my diffs.

Thanks Kier and Ian for your helpful suggestions.

Tom
