The Linux IC D/L from MSFT is a self-extracting .EXE, and
must be run on a 64 bit instance of Windows (ie run it on your Hyper-V host).
After it extracts you'll get a readme PDF with installation instructions and an
.ISO file containing the actual Linux IC bits that can be attached to a Hyper-V
VM's virtual DVD drive.
<might also be worth noting that support for the Linux
ICs is provided by MSFT via the 'Newsgroups' link within the Linux IC project
on connect.microsoft.com>
