Summary: libxenstat python / perl bindings will not compile on
                    64bit
           Product: Xen
           Version: unstable
          Platform: x86-64
        OS/Version: Linux-2.6
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Tools
        AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: fh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi,

found a nasty issue i cannot fix on my own.
If you try to build the swig/python bindings for libxenstat this will not
succeed on 64bit hosts.
I tested on Ubuntu Natty 64bit - no success
I tested on Ubuntu Natty 32bit - works

It is safe to assume you'll have that issue on older releases too?

For testing:
cd xen-4.1-testing.hg/tools/xenstat/libxenstat
make all-bindings

should produce files similar like these in
xen-4.1-testing.hg/tools/xenstat/libxenstat/bindings/swig/python
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 153500 Sep 29 17:13 _xenstat.c
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 55190 Sep 29 17:40 _xenstat.so
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9726 Sep 29 17:13 xenstat.py

This issue gets in the way working on a better faster stronger monitoring for
Xen.
