[Xen-bugs] [Bug 1235] New: XenHide needs work

http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1235

           Summary: XenHide needs work
           Product: Xen
           Version: unstable
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Windows
            Status: NEW
          Severity: major
          Priority: P2
         Component: winpv
        AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: andy.grover@xxxxxxxxxx

James:

I still hate the current solution. Someone else mentioned
that they way they resolved that problem in their drivers was to modify
qemu to only allow the PCI devices to be probed once, eg by the BIOS.
That would work for us too, but there is something nice about being able
to chose GPLPV from the windows boot menu and it would be a shame to
lose it. Another solution I have thought of is to install xenhide as a
class filter for all mass storage and network drivers, and if they are
PCI based just force a failure.
