[Xen-bugs] [Bug 1198] New: Memory limit + DRBD

http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1198

           Summary: Memory limit + DRBD
           Product: Xen
           Version: unstable
          Platform: x86
        OS/Version: Linux-2.6
            Status: NEW
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P2
         Component: Hypervisor
        AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: serge.dewailly@xxxxxxxxx

Found that if I limit the memory for the Domain0, and use drbd on the
Hypervisor, Drbd process seems to see all physical memory, and is able to
allocate more memory than limited to the Dom0.

Result is a kernel panic, with message "Out of Memory" from drbd module.
This appears in XEN 3.1, no problem with previous versions. It doesn't depend
on DRBD Version (0.7.X, 0.8.X).

The temporary solution is to disable the memory limitation, but then, Domain0
consumes too much memory so I am not able to start new VM after some days...

Environment is :
  Xen 3.1
  Kernel 2.6.18
Processor : Xeon with VT activated
  Memory : 16GB
