I'm closing this bug in the course of bugzilla 2007 spring cleaning.

No developer has dealt with it since months, so I'm closing it as "wontfix"
which matches this fact best.

Please reopen this bug if it still exists in current Xen versions, and is
important to you - sorry for the inconvenience in that case. We are hoping to
get a cleaner bugzilla, so in the future we can send out reminders for
unhandled bugs. Therefore, the bug database must be cleaned of old and
forgotten bugs, first.

As for this specific bug: yes, if the README says DESTDIR is working, it should
work, or the README changed. I'd vote for this no being major, as the program
is usable when compiling and installing without DESTDIR.

So, wehn the README is changed to not mention destdir, this is a feature
request bug - "add correct destdir functionality".

In the meantime, most distributions provide packages for Xen, yo people willing
ot have a clean install will use these.
