Thoses drivers are broken. sti() cli() functions has been deprecated for a while
in upstream kernels. you can send patch upstream though to try to fix them.

in most case they should be replace this way:
save_flags(flags); cli();    =>    local_irq_save(flags);
restore_flags(flags);        =>    local_irq_restore(flags);
