[Xen-bugs] [Bug 233] system hangs/freezes under moderate I/O load
http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=233
------- Additional Comments From warnold@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 2005-10-04
18:29 -------
Upon extensive reading of the mailing list I think I found the issue mentioned
with a solution.
The origional solution noted was to add "ignorebiostables" to the xen boot.
This also disabled smp, etc. so someone did a patch that was supposed
to detect the relevent problem and fix it where necessary.
A later post talked about the fact that it didn't always detect the issue, so it
was necessary to turn it on manually by adding "noirqbalance" to the xen boot
config, this was specifically talking about the dell 1850.
I added "noirqbalance" yesterday, and haven't locked up since, and I copied
multiple gigabytes around in an effort to trigger the bug.
If this solves it for the OP, then someone just needs to look into finding some
way to give a better (any) error message.
