I tried to reproduce this problem on an HS40 blade we have here at IBM using the
latest Xen snapshot from July 12th .. using linux 2.6.12 for Dom0. Things are
working fine on the HS40 I have here. I have 2 IDE drives and I am not seeing
this happen. Some things you want to do is get the following updates:
Critical update-

Latest Bios update (boot able iso image)-
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/pc_servers_iso/39r5787.iso


Maybe it is the updates but this problem look resovled.
