I'm not sure what you are trying to do exactly, but I would recommend
taking a look at:
http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/MigrationGuideToXen4.1%2B

Guest networking/bridging should now be handled by the distro and not
with the xend network scripts anymore.
