Thread-topic: CentOS 5.6 xen local install option greyed out (was RE: [Xen-users] Easiest OS to use for xen 4.0?)
Just wanted to follow up that installing Cent0S 5.6 and upgrading to xen 4.0
was fairly easy. I followed Grant McWilliam's guide with slight modifications.
However, when I run virt-manager, and press the "New" button for a new VM, the
option for Local install media is greyed out! The only available option is
Network Install.

Would anyone have thoughts on why the local install button would be greyed out?
Needless to say this is problematic for creating my domU!

Julien

PS: Here are the steps I used to upgrade to Xen 4.1.1 on CentOS 5.6

> cd /etc/yum.repos.d/
> wget http://www.gitco.de/repo/GITCO-XEN4.1.1_x86_64.repo
> yum groupremove Virtualization
> yum update
> yum clean all
> yum groupinstall Virtualization

#optional: edit /etc/grub.conf to have default=0

> reboot
> /usr/sbin/xm dmesg
