   Why is this happening? And why is the error message so unclear?

   root@node1:~# xm list
   Name                                        ID   Mem VCPUs      State
   Time(s)
   Domain-0                                     0  5656     8     r-----
    123.0
   root@node1:~# xm console 0
   Can't specify Domain-0
   root@node1:~#

I'm not sure it's possible to connect to a Dom0 console.  Remember, xm
is not creating a console, it's connecting to one which the xen
backend already knows about.  My version of XM says this in the man
page:

"This uses the back end xenconsole service which currently only works
for para-virtual domains."
