[Xen-users] problems with xen and sr-iov/iommu
Hi all,
I've fetched the xen 4.0.1 source from the usual spot and have git'd the
stable dom0 source (recently) from the jeremy repository, have
successfully built and installed each of these on my VT-x and VT-d
capable x86_64 system, over a fedora 14 installation. Most of the
features seem to be running just fine, but I'm having a real problem
getting the virtual functions from my 82576 module to map successfully
into my HVMs.
The PCI passthrough feature seems to work fine when I assign the
physical functions of the nic to the HVMs. They respectfully see the
PCI devices, load the igb drivers on boot and have network access.
However when I switch to using the virutal functions (starting with
simple case of 'modprobe igb max_vfs=1') the HVMs won't properly boot
and end up getting somehow destroyed late in the boot process, just
after the igbvf drivers load.
I've got plenty of data/logs to post, but I wanted to check in to see if
anyone has a working scenario before I start throwing bits around. Or
maybe I should assume that SR-IOV/PCI passthrough doesn't work in xen 4.0.1?
Anyone?
-David
