Quite probably using newer kernel/tools/hypervisor would cure it. I'm 
running what is now a fairly old setup with Xen 3.2.1 & Kernel 2.6.18 
on Dom0, and kernel 2.6.26 in DomU. All Debian Lenny except for Dom0 
kernel which is Sarge. 
I've never pursued it since it's not been a major headache - but more 
importantly I've not yet had enough hand me down hardware to be able 
to move things around and safely do upgrades :-(
