Yup, I have read that document. Unfortunately, at item 6 on page 26 it says “VNC and perform the OS installation” which is where I got stuck.

Nope but I will try them today.

That is a great suggestion and is probably the source of the problem. Unfortunately don’t know how to do that. I have verified that the dom0 VM server is on the right network but how can I check the domU VM while it is booting?
