RE: [Xen-users] XCP & InfiniBand
Thank you for the reply, Trygve. I
read through your thread on the mailing list on April 15, 2010. I have gotten IB
working on CentOS with Xen installed, but not with XCP (at least no so
far). I was curious if anybody had posted step by step instructions about
how to get IB installed and working with XCP.

Subject: Re: [Xen-users] XCP &
InfiniBand
I spent some time getting IB to work with XCP a few
months ago. There should be some info about this on this list.
I did not try to make it work for shared storage, but
for inter-host communication. I ended up "manually" routing the XCP
traffic over IPoIB.
My understanding is that there is no official IB
support, but that Novell is working on something. I've also seen interest in
using Lustre over IB as shared storage, but I don't think it's possible.
I do believe you can use IPoIB to access your NFS
server, but I've not tried it myself.

I am running XCP 0.5. I have an InfiniBand
network in place that I would
like to use to connect to my NFS server for VM image storage. Has anybody
tried getting IB to work with XCP? Is there a document that outlines the
steps for getting IB to work with XCP?
Also, I don't need to expose the IB network to any of the domU. I only
want
to use the IB network to connecting to NFS based image storage.
Thanks.
