Thanks, ill do the test and wait for RAM before doing anything further.  No 
errors in dmesg and its a 32bit Dom0.

So you're saying the system was slow even after the windows 2008 guest was 
killed? Something definitely wrong there..
Any errors in "xm dmesg" ? or in dom0 "dmesg" ?

Was this 32bit dom0?

Who knows.. maybe. 

Make sure you run memtest86+ for a long time to make sure the RAM is ok.
Sometimes the memory errors will show up only after a couple of _days_ of 
running memtest.
