Hi,

I'm having IPv6 problems with my CentOS 5.2 dom0 while the same NetBSD/i386 5.0 domU running on Debian 5.0 dom0 works as expected. CentOS is running gitco's Xen 3.3.1 packages and Debian is running self-compiled Xen 3.3.1.

My dom0 kernels:

# uname -srm
Linux 2.6.18-92.1.22.el5xen x86_64

# uname -srm
Linux 2.6.18.8-xen x86_64

My domU configuration file:

name = 'p140'
memory = 512
kernel = '/var/tmp/netbsd-XEN3PAE_DOMU.gz'
disk = [ 'phy:/dev/iscsi/p140,sda,w' ]
vif = [ 'mac=00:16:3e:01:40:01, bridge=vlan2000' ]

My vlan2000 interface:

# brctl show | grep vlan2000
vlan2000        8000.0015c5fc2806   no      eth1.2000

# ifconfig eth1.2000
eth1.2000 Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:15:C5:FC:28:06
          inet6 addr: fe80::215:c5ff:fefc:2806/64 Scope:Link
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:1674 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:75 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0

          RX bytes:170201 (166.2 KiB)  TX bytes:14533 (14.1 KiB)

# ifconfig eth1
eth1      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:15:C5:FC:28:06
          inet addr:0.0.0.1  Bcast:0.0.0.1  Mask:255.255.255.255

domU on CentOS dom0
-------------------
# sysctl -w net.inet6.ip6.accept_rtadv=1
net.inet6.ip6.accept_rtadv: 0 -> 1
# rtsol xennet0
(wait for a moment)
# ifconfig xennet0
xennet0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        capabilities=2800<TCP4CSUM_Tx,UDP4CSUM_Tx>
        enabled=0
        address: 00:16:3e:01:40:01
        inet6 fe80::216:3eff:fe01:4001%xennet0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1

domU on Debian dom0
-------------------
# sysctl -w net.inet6.ip6.accept_rtadv=1
net.inet6.ip6.accept_rtadv: 0 -> 1
# rtsol xennet0
(wait for a moment)
# ifconfig xennet0
xennet0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        capabilities=2800<TCP4CSUM_Tx,UDP4CSUM_Tx>
        enabled=0
        address: 00:16:3e:01:40:01
        inet6 fe80::216:3eff:fe01:4001%xennet0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1
        inet6 2001:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:216:3eff:fe01:4001 prefixlen 64

So, there's no IPv6 traffic when the domU is running on CentOS dom0. Any ideas?

Martti
