I am running OpenSuSE 10.3  with XEN 3.2.0. Every time that I start a VM( xen create vm_name) it creates a vifXX on DOM0. If I type ifconfig on DOM0 I can see that during the start up of the vm hundreds of packages were dropped. It only happens during the creation time and stops after few seconds and do not affect the vm performance.

On OpenSuSE 11.1 with XEN 3.3.1 I only see 6 to 8 packages dropped. I am unable to use a sniffer due the fact every time that I create the VM the vif has a different name.

Is this a regular behavior? Is there a way that xen can always create the vif with the same name on DOM0?

Thanks,

-Mendes
