i did that already, otherwise the system would not come up, as the MAC
address is set to that odd value already at BIOS time, no iam not joking ;)

maybe i misunderstood your comment, but as the eth1 interface is the
former eth0 interface, intelligent as "udev" tries to be, it recognizes
a new MAC address and assigns a new interface as it knows it had eth0
before with another MAC, so eth0 goes to eth1, from that point of view i
dont know how i could change the bridged ethernet to eth1 as this device
does not exists(as long i dont want to stay with the FE:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF
MAC address)
