Re: [Xen-users] Problemes about Windows virtualization (memory, CPU)
Hi,
I try at home, and it's look great. I've got 2 cpu on my windows guest.
I didn't try for the memory, but I will on Monday. (I doesn't have a
bi-xeon and 10gb RAM at home :)).
I tried with an etch, backports xen3.2.
Do you have any ideas about migration from VMware to XEN. Today I read
this thread,
http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2008-06/msg00900.html,
but I don't understand why he could makes it works and I couldn't !! The
only thing I didn't do, is to transfer my qemu-img converted image to a
block device like /dev/...
I still have a blue screen which say : Do CHKDSK .... , I tried to do it
from the installation CD, section repair but it doesn't change anything.
Thanks for your answers, and your ideas ..

Use the 3.2.0 versions of xen-hypervisor and associated tools from
etch-backports if you want to better support Windows. I believe 3.0.3
had some known limitations wrt acpi and apic and general stability.
3.2.0 works great for me. I'm running Lenny on another Dom0 too (Lenny
has 3.2.1) and it seems perfectly stable.
