[Xen-users] Problems with tap:aio on Dell PowerEdge 1950 III
|
Hi all,
this is my first post to this list. I've been trying to find
information related to my problem on Google, the Xen irc channel and,
of course, this lists.
The thing is that I've been dealing with Xen since version 3.0.3 on
old machines (pentium IV without virtualization capabilities) running
Linux DomU's without problems. I upgraded to 3.2.0 and 3.2.1 also
without problems.
Lately we bought the machines that will run Xen in production. These
are Dell PowerEdge 1950 III.
I have installed the same system that I had on the old machines, this
is:
- Debian Etch 4.0r3
- Xen 3.2.0
I've tried with 32 and 64 bits, and also with the latest 3.2.1 xen
version.
I can't get to work tap:aio. File:/ works perfectly though.
I get this error message on syslog on boot of the DomU:
---
Jul 3 13:51:52 xen64 kernel: blktap: ring-ref 8, event-channel 6,
protocol 1 (x86_64-abi)
Jul 3 13:51:52 xen64 kernel: blk_tap: Corresponding UE ring does not
exist!"
---
And here, the domU, enters the wait state (300s countdown) and then
nothing... disk is not mounted.
It doesn't matter if disk files are local or remote (via iscsi). It
won't work.
Has anyone seen or deal with this problem? Do you need any other kind
of information?
Thanks a lot,
Aleix Dorca.
