Re: [Xen-users] Cannot access to Apache on Xen VM
Hi Freddie,
there is another workaround so you don't have to do that stuff manually.
go to your /etc/xen/scripts directory and edit the xen-network-common.sh
scroll down until you see the following function:
add_to_bridge ()
modify the function from this:
add_to_bridge () {
local bridge=$1
local dev=$2
# Don't add $dev to $bridge if it's already on a bridge.
if [ -e "/sys/class/net/${bridge}/brif/${dev}" ]; then
ip link set ${dev} up || true
return
fi
brctl addif ${bridge} ${dev}
ip link set ${dev} up
}
to this (only the last line with 'ethtool' in it:
add_to_bridge () {
local bridge=$1
local dev=$2
# Don't add $dev to $bridge if it's already on a bridge.
if [ -e "/sys/class/net/${bridge}/brif/${dev}" ]; then
ip link set ${dev} up || true
return
fi
brctl addif ${bridge} ${dev}
ip link set ${dev} up
ethtool -K ${dev} tx off
}
So now, everytime a virtual network device is added to the bridge, the
script will turn off checksumming on this device.
Have a nice day

Hi Freddie,
maybe it's a checksum problem. try to disable transfer
checksumming with
ethtool.
First you need to check which ID your domU has:
# xm list
Then you turn off tx checksumming with ethtool:
# ethtool -K vif.0 tx off
So for a domU with ID 12 it would be:
# ethtool -K vif12.0 tx off
Hope it helps,
