[Xen-users] System hang when booting Xen 3.2.1 with "vtd=1" option on HP
I'm currently doing some investigation on PCI-Passthrough into RHEL3 HVM with VT-d. The workstation I choose to use is HP xw4600, which has Intel X38 Express chipset. In BIOS, the Intel I/O Virtualization option can be turned on.
When booting Xen 3.2.1, with "vtd=1" option, the system will hang after the message "[Xen] Brought up 2 CPUs...", before booting the dom0 kernel. And after long time, a message shows saying "DMAR" related thing not working. If without "vtd=1" option, Xen will boot correctly, and PCI-Passthrough to a RHEL5 PVM is working fine.
Does anyone else also encounter similar problem? Is this a problem of BIOS code or Xen bug?
