I haven't even tried XP yet, I was trying Linux (Ubuntu/Fedora) and they both stop immediately after loading and use a lot of CPU.

same result on both CentOS 5.1 and OpenSUSE 10.3 both from distro packages
A similar case is reported on the xen-users list:
http://xen.markmail.org/search/?q=io%20request%20not%20ready#query:io%20request%20not%20ready+page:1+mid:igzbfasa2igkspem+state:results
and also on the devel list:

So I don't think it is necessarily your Windows XP CD specific. I plan to try a non-graphical boot CD such as debian.

Any thoughts?

Hum, I still have not had a chance to re-visit this. Did you get a test with non-graphical boot cd completed?

I have switched over to using Ubuntu 8.04 for now and will hack on CentOS and see if there is a fix or workaround once I have some time to look into it.

Cheers,
Todd
