Try adding 'console=hvc0' at the end of your 'module' line. Also, if you need 
a login prompt, 'hvc0' has to be in /etc/securetty, and your /etc/inittab's 
getty section has to have:

co:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty hvc0 9600 vt100-nav
