It was checked on the computer with two Intel Dual Core Xeon, 8Gb RAM and 6Tb SATA RAID. BIOS maintains Intel-VT (hardware virtualization Intel-VT ).
On this computer distribution kit OS Linux - Fedora 8 (x86_64 version) with a kernel for support XEN has been installed. As a result under control of XEN it was possible to start 4 guest OS Microsoft Windows 2003 server R2 x32 Edition (Rus), but it has turned out only after shaman dancings with a tambourine.
At work with XEN following lacks are found out:
- Practically there is no documentation in Fedora (and we have found in other place) for corresponding version XEN. For example is absent descriptions tags/items, a set of values for these tags/items and structures XML of files config.sxp which creates
virt-manager In catalogues/var/lib/xend/domains / / at creation of everyone new guest OS;
- Many important parametres from files config.sxp are installed in values by default and cannot be changed with the help virt-manager;
- The utility xm from structure of the software for work with XEN does not understand a format of files config.sxp, and possibility of export of the created configuration in a format of a configuration file xm is absent;
- We anywhere do not find the detailed description of action of a command xm shutdown and whether will be guest OS, started in the domain domainName it is finished correctly?
- It has not turned out any of found in Internet ways to connect USB Flash in guest OS.
