OK. "yum" is the tool Fedora and now RedHat use to manage the RPM software packages.

Are you working from a clean, newly built disk image, such as a newly created file? And are you doing default everything, or doing clever options like hand-writing your own Xen configuration files or telling it "no, no, don't install a boot loader!"
