[Xen-users] Problems booting kernel
Hello,
first of all I have to say that I'm pretty new to XEN. I had it running once
but my HDD crashed before I could make a backup.
So I really wan't to have a xen-system again.
I installed the 32bit binary tarball and generated /boot/initrd.img-2.6.18-xen
When I try to start the kernel the last thing I see is
"Kernel Panic. ????? unable to mount root-fs ??? unknown block (0,0)"
root-fs would be the name of my root FS Partition.
Where does the kernel know the name from when it can't mount it? Its a normal
ext3 fs.
I use a Mainboard with a ICH7 Chipset and a Core2Dou E6420.
I allready tryed a packages from debain (stable), the my Harddrive was found
but nothing happend after that, just some USB
messages.
Here is the output of my /boot/grub/menu.lst:
################################################
title My Distro with Xen (2.6.18-xen-3.1)
root (hd0,5)
kernel /boot/xen-3.1.0.gz
module /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-xen ro root=/dev/sda6
module /boot/initrd.img-2.6.18-xen
################################################
Here is a link the the full file: http://pastebin.ca/715760
I don't really know that to search for, because the system reboots to fast.
P.S.
I use a newly installed debian etch.
Mybe someone could help me understand whats going on.
Thanks Ben Pfitzner
