Re: [Xen-users] Slow graphics composition in hvm domU
You would be using GUI installation. Try text installation, it would be
enough fast. I dont know if we could do text installation in Open Suse.
I never installed this.
Thanks,

Hi.
I created some HVM domU to install some distributions which cannot be installed with debootstrap and rpmstrap, like Opensuse, Slackware or Gentoo. Now I'm trying the Opensuse 10.2 installation and I configured the
domU like this:
kernel = '/usr/lib/xen/boot/hvmloader' builder = 'hvm' memory = '512' device_modem = '/usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm' disk = [ 'file:/vserver/domains/opensuse/opensuse-
disk.img,sda,w', 'file:/vserver/iso/openSUSE-10.2-GM-DVD-x86_64.iso,ioem name = 'opensuse' vif = [ 'type=ioemu, bridge=xenbr0, vifname=opensuse' ] boot = 'd' vnc=1 sdl=0
>on_reboot = 'restart' on_crash = 'restart'
The installation ISO starts, but the graphic composition is very very slow. To compose the inizial graphic window of the Opensuse
installation it takes about 1 minutes long. And during the installation the windows compose themselves very very slowly. Why this happens? What is the problem? I'm using the vncviewer from RealVNC on Windows to connect to the HVM
virtual machine.
Anyone could help me, please? Please ask me if I didn't properly explain the problem.
Thank you very much! Bye.
