I downgraded my server from 3.1 to 3.0.3 and now it works without any problem.

So this problem affects the following xen versions (in combination with 3ware
sata controller and 32bit pae mode):

Xen = 3.0.0 and Xen >= 3.1, everything in between (3.0.1 - 3.0.4) seems to be
fine.

The original bug report from xen 3.0.0 is still available:

P.s.: Sorry for crossposting this time, but I think the developers should
really be informed about this ugly issue :)
