Well, that depends on how you look at it :)
Anyway,
It would PROBABLY work if clone your existing system.
That is, install SUSE first to another partition, on a physical machine
(or Vmware, whichever is easier), modify grub's menu.lst to not display
splash screen, and THEN clone it to your domU. You'd probably want to
run domU in text mode exclusively, and use vnc/X/NX (or my favorite,
xrdp) to display GUI on another machine.
In the case of Linux, I get the impression that you would actually get
BETTER performance running paravirtualized, as opposed to HVM.
