Hello,

This problem occurred with the xen rpm and with the one I compiled from source. I'm running RHEL 4 on a xeon 5130 CPU. Basically I make the following entry in /boot/grub/menu.lst

title Red Hat Enterprise Linux Kernel with Xen support (2.6.9-42.EL)
root (hd0,0)
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6-xen ro root=LABEL=/1 console=tty0 console=ttyS1,19200n8
initrd /initrd-2.6-xen.img
# kernel /xen.gz dom0_mem=262144

And I get the following error at bootup...

Error 13 Invalid or unsupported executable format ....

and it doesn't boot.

Thanks,
Ryan

P.S. here's some more info that may help, when I run the file command on the xen kernel it comes up as a gzipped archive...

[root@xen01 linux-2.6.16.29-xen]# file /boot/vmlinuz-2.6-xen
/boot/vmlinuz-2.6-xen: symbolic link to `vmlinux-syms-2.6.16.29-xen'
[root@xen01 linux-2.6.16.29-xen]# file /boot/vmlinux-syms-2.6.16.29-xen
/boot/vmlinux-syms-2.6.16.29-xen: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), statically linked, not stripped
