Thread-topic: Getting better Disk IO

I am trying to improve my disk io.  I am running xen 3 on fedora 6.  Using HD tachh to get my average read time.  So far average read is 6.6 mb /s Is there any settings I can change to get better performance? Do I need to tweak Qeum?  How can I check if I have the right drivers for the raid? I am using Adaptec.  I hope someone can help me.

Thanks James

In Domain-0 I run hdpram -tT /dev/sda1

dev/sda1:
 Timing cached reads:   11716 MB in  1.99 seconds = 5873.27 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads:  100 MB in  1.84 seconds =  54.30 MB/sec

Here are my specs
