Did something change with xen and/or mkinitrd recently?

Updating to xen-unstable, then making a new initrd image, I can no longer boot
my xen dom0 domain.

complains about not finding /dev/root in the initrd

I'm using FC5 (with updates) and LVM for everything except for /boot
