Did you run a memtest on the problematic machine? I've noticed Xen finds
issues that a typical kernel won't (and dies over them).

This could be a piece of lint or fuzz shorting pins or a poorly seated
chip. I don't have much info about your machine, but I just had a
similar issue on an ubuntu/xen install and after a few hours of hair
pulling I wished I checked the memory chips first :)
