Hi all,

I'm running an SMP (2 proc) server with 2 disks in RAID1 and GRUB under Ubuntu Dapper 6.06, kernel 2.6.15-26-server

Raid setup is following

/dev/md0 for /boot
/dev/md1 for /

with

/dev/hd[a,c]1 is md0
/dev/hd[a,c]2 is md1

No LVM, it's working like a charm. Now I build from sources xen-3.0.2-2 kernel and install it. Grub entry is following:

title XEN, kernel 2.6.16-xen
root (hd0,0)
kernel /xen-3.0.2-2.gz dom0_mem=262144 ;have 512 MB RAM
module /vmlinuz-2.6.16-xen root=/dev/md1 ro quiet splash
module /initrd.img-2.6.16-xen
savedefault
boot

Server is booting except that I have

Aug 3 11:47:33 dual kernel: kjournald starting. Commit interval 5 seconds
Aug 3 11:47:33 dual kernel: EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.

Notice that md0 doesn't appear. At the end:

Aug 3 11:47:34 dual kernel: eth0: no IPv6 routers present

Aug 3 11:47:34 dual kernel: EXT3 FS on hdc6, internal journal
Aug 3 11:47:34 dual kernel: EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.

hdc6 is a spare partition not in a raid area. This ended in a shell on which I'm asked to run e2fsck as superblock for /dev/md0 is corrupted or partition is not ext2, or press CTRl/D to continue boot sequence. If I continue, everything is ok excepted that /dev/md0 doesn't exist.

I tried to add in /lib/module/<xen version>/initrd the raid1.ko, md-mod.ko and ext3.ko, same result.

Does anyone have an idea on what's going wrong? Thanks for any hint.
