I just built a system specifically for Xen from what I could find locally:

AM2 Athlon64 3200+ (The only single core AM2 in the city, apparently)
ASUS M2NPV-VM motherboard

There was no BIOS option for enabling/disabling the feature. It just worked 
and I have WinXP happily running as a domU.
