Try making the initrd like this:

mkinitrd -s off

I believe the problem is the splash in the initrd. The above command will strip it off.

Hi,

while booting a SLES9_x86_64 xenU I'm getting following error:

----8<----
Error: (9, 'Bad file descriptor')
----8<----

My xenU config file looks like this:

----8<----
kernel = "/boot/vmlinuz-2.6-xen"
ramdisk = "/boot/initrd-suse.img"
builder='linux'
memory = 128
name = "SLES9_x86_64"
vcpus = ""
vif = [ '' ]
disk = [ 'phy:sda5,sda1,w', 'file:/vserver/suse/swap.img,sda2,w' ]
hostname= "SLES9"
root = "/dev/sda1 ro"
extra = "4"
----8<----

I built the initrd file under a SLES9 chroot with follwing command:

----8<----
mkinitrd -k vmlinuz-2.6-xenU -i initrd-suse.img
----8<----

I guess the problem is python related?

I also built a RHEL4_x86_64 this way and it's running fine.

Marvin Stark
