How is that different than the "AMD Athlon(tm)64 X2 Dual Core Processor
3800+" he has?
The problem would seem to be the m.b. not being socket AM2. i.e.
http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=15&l3=210&model=766&modelmenu=1
and not in the ASUS "AMD Socket AM2" section...
