I'm running a Quad Opteron (Dual-Core) with 16GB Ram on a tyan motherboard 
with xen 3.0.2. No troubles so far.
Both the on-board LSI SCSI controller and an areca 24xSATA Raid6 controller 
work without problems.
Do you have IOMMU enabled in the boards BIOS?
