The output is supposed to be
bridge name  bridge id           STP  enabled interfaces
xen-br0      8000.feffffffffff   no   peth0
                                      vif0.0
                                      vif1.0

Try doing "brctl addif xen-br0 vif1.0". It's unclear from your post if vif0.0 is
also part of the brige. If it's not you need to add it also. In normal
circumstances the vif*.* is supposed to be added automatically.
