What happens if you put your domU in the same broadcast domain as your
dom0?

Try this before you start xend and bring up the dom0.

On your dom0, "ifconfig eth0:1 192.168.1.241" (or whatever ip is
available on that subnet). 

Start xend, fire up the domU, and from the domU ping the ip interface
you created in the above  line.
