And all of these are perfectly normal! Without PAE, the physical
memory space is limited to 4G. Then the chipset carves out a bit at
the top of that for PCI and AGP and whatever else, and yeah, they do
seem to take a bigger bite than is really necessary, but that does seem
to be normal.
Now that it's been explained, I'll be happy to accept any of that
surplus RAM for safe disposal. :-)
