finally got a null modem cable but had no success with a serial console.
What I did discover was that when booting 2.0.6/2.6.11.10, xen would
run and display on the PC console. Next I would get a message about
switching to a serial console complete with message about triple ctrl-a
and then the system would hang. It really smells like it's not
switching to or finding the kernel. What's interesting is that the
exact same xen image will boot and run the 2.6.10 kernel used with the
2.0.5 release.
