backup/restore features? What do you mean?

If you are referring to the separation of movement, reformatting and
finally autogeneration into separate patches then I think this is
necessary to be able to simply (practically automatically) validate the
series is correct. I'd rather not get rid of that since it makes
rebasing much simpler.
