I've been running Opensuse's xenified kernels from 2.6.31.8-01-xen ->
2.6.33-rc5-5-xen with either their Xen 3.4 or Xen 4.0 for ages.  No
issues.

i have my suspicions.  but it's not clearly stated anywhere i can
find.  so, specifically, why not?
