Yes, I ran "mkinitrd" after installing the Linux kernel.
I used the kernel of rhel5.4 while compiling.

BTW, I found the following bugzilla. I could boot 32bit dom0.
Do you have something to resolve this issue? http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1529
